Darren Evans-Henry & Essence (DEH & Essence) release their new single ‘Bak a Yard Medley’, it is their first project for the new year and one of several, anticipated songs in the pipeline, by the UK Gospel group. This is a medley packed single, rich with memories of the old school choruses one would have grown up with in Jamaica, the Caribbean and Diaspora. Essence takes listeners back with that traditional Calypso/Mento sound, reminding one of songs that will never grow old.

Darren says

“Get ready to dance as we take you on a musical journey BAK A YARD.”

Inspiration behind the song

“This vibrant selection of songs displays the rich heritage of the Jamaican culture. DEH & ESSENCE have chosen a number of songs, compiled in a medley which is sure to transport listeners to a place of dance, celebration, remembrance, and liberation in praise & worship.”– Darren Evans-Henry, Essence founder

Quotes from UK Gospel Artiste

“A must listen medley, and I love how it’s structured and will certainly get one dancing. He took me back to Jamaica with this one. This is a must have medley! Darren is certainly an anointed singer who knows his lane, and as a heart after God. “Without Jesus I am a nobody, Him turn me into a somebody!” “Lyrics, and Wheel it!!!.” – Minister Taf, UK Gospel Reggae Artiste
