About Marlin Awards

The Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards was launched on March 16th 1996 by recording artist, radio personality and media executive Kevin Harris. The awards were first known as the Bahamian Gospel Music Marlin Awards and were established to recognize outstanding achievement in Bahamian Gospel Music from 1996 to 2000.

In the year 2000 the awards were expanded to include eight (8) Caribbean Gospel categories and in 2002 the awards evolved even further to incorporate other styles of Caribbean Gospel Music and were subsequently rebranded the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards.
